Mandriva Linux 2008 Beta 2 released

The second beta of Mandriva Linux 2008, codenamed Galilee, is now available. The release notes are available here. A guide to major new features (some of which are not yet implemented in this beta) is available here, and the detailed technical specifications are available here. This beta is available as a three CD or one DVD Free edition (containing no non-free software or drivers) for the x86-32 and x86-64 architectures, with a traditional installer. Future betas will be available in One live / install CD hybrid editions with proprietary drivers.

Too bad there's no LiveCD at this stage yet … :( I won't be able to test it on my ASUS laptop.

Is there a 3 CDs version for AMD64? I can't see it on mirrors, only 32-bit ISOs.

the freemini iso is a dual architecture one: 32/64-bit.

There are both 32 and 64. When you will be redirected to provided mirror, choose higher level (devel), then 2008 and both betas are there.

@ andreyic I can only see the AMD64 DVD, not the 3 CDs edition.

@ glyj Yeah it looks like I'll to use the Freemini iso.

Downloaded the 64bits DVD version yesterday, and installed on my new HP TX1220CA Turion 64 X2 TL-60?. I had the 2007 Spring x86_64 installed, but could not get sound working. With the 2008 beta, I have sound working out of the box, and wireless via the ndiswrapper with the bcmwl5. This is quite a good upgrade to the 2007 Spring. Have used Mandriva since version 7 at work/home.

Downloaded the 64bits DVD version yesterday, and installed on 2 computers. After copy packet's having error for install boot loader. It's error have 2 computers.
