Dans cette liste, un service est soit 'optionnel', 'commun' ou 'essentiel'. 'Optionnel' signifie que le service peut être désactivé sans perte de fonctionnalités vitales pour le système, 'commun' signifie que ce service n'est pas vital mais qu'il est habituellement actif et enfin, 'essentiel' signifie que vous ne devriez pas de le désactiver, à moins que vous sachiez exactement pourquoi vous le faites.

fcron

Fcron est un substitut à 'cron' et à 'anacron'. Le paquetage fcron est disponible dans les contributions.

inet(d)

Obsolète depuis Mandrakelinux 7.2, il est remplacé par xinetd.
The Internet 'Super-Server'. Handles dial-in services like ftp, pop3 and telnet (these three are enabled by default). If you only dial out (e.g. for connecting to the Internet), or just have Apache running, you can turn it off and thus close another potential security hole.
If you want to use it however, have a close look at '/etc/inetd.conf', '/etc/hosts.allow', '/etc/hosts.deny' and install the tcp-wrappers.rpm (which is usually installed by default).

jail.init

opennap

Obsolète après Mandrakelinux 8.1. Control script for an ~OpenNap server using the Napster file sharing protocol. Presumably one of the best ways to get in trouble these days ;-). Notice that there's an administrator account with a default password you should change.

vrrpd

Obsolète après Mandrakelinux 8.1. Control script for the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol Daemon, used to elect a master server on a local network and provide fallback in case the master fails.
