Autoinstall

If you want to install everything automatically on more than one machine or you need detailed information about how the anatomy of the boot loader configuration files, look at Auto Install for Mandrake Linux.

Installation advanced

  • The installation system installs the boot loader automatically, but if there are problems or you want to know more. Everything you need to know about boot loaders.
  • If you have a LAN and an HTTP, FTP or NFS Server, a network installation may be more convenient than installing from CDs or DVD. Network Install.
  • These days compiling and installing a new kernel is seldom necessary. If you want to do it anyway, here's the plan.
  • If installation fails completely on one computer, then you can put to your harddrives into another computer and install LINUX on them there. Install the latest version of drakxtools. Then put your harddrives back into your first computer and LINUX should be running now also here.

Resizing Windows Partitions Using 'Fips 2.0

AFAIK Fips can not be used any more with recent versions of Mandriva. Therefore it should be deleted from the wiki.
