Creating Profiles in Konqueror

Konqueror has the ability to save different profiles (or application settings) that allow you to access local and on-line resources quickly and easily.

First, open up as many tabs as you require (Ctrl+Shift+N) and navigate to your favorite webpage(s), ftp sites, or local hard drive directories; what ever you want to have Konqueror to remember.

Now, save the configuration by clicking Settings -> Configure View Profiles… and give your new profile a name by entering it in the Profile Name: field.

Select the "Save URL in Profile" and the "Save Window Size in Profile" option boxes to retain these settings. Then click the "Save" button.

Next time you open up Konqueror, you can then retrieve the profile you just created by clicking Settings -> Load View Profile… and select the name of the profile you wish to retrieve.

Or you can create a menu item or desktop link that includes the command: "kfmclient openProfile your_profile_name" (without the quotes) and Konqueror will open with your profile already loaded.
