2 Summer Contests for Artists at Mandriva

Mandriva launched 2 contests this summer for artists who would like to contribute their works to the Mandriva Distribution. The goal is to get artists and free software communities closer. Mandriva users will of course benefit from those works but there are also some nice prizes for the winners!

The first one challenges musicians to create the music theme of the Mandriva Official 2007 by producing the 2 jingles which will greet the Mandriva users when they log in and log out from their desktop.
As for the prize of this contest, the winner will have to choose either a Silver level life membership to the Mandriva Club or a bundle consisting of a Mandriva Linux PowerPack+ 2007, a GlobeTrotter 2.0, and an Archos Pocket Media Assistant PMA400.

The second one challenges graphic artists or photographers into realizing a graphical theme for the Mandriva Distribution consisting in a wallpaper and several splash screens.
It is a nice opportunity to show your talent and your vision as a graphic artist and to share it with the users of the distribution. You're sure to have some happy fans immediately since the lack of a wide choice of bootsplah or login theme has been often heard in the forums.
An interresting side note is that the idea of this contest comes from the members of the Mandriva Club and the fact that it is opened to non Club Members too. Who said the Club was a closed entity oblivious of the rest of the linux community?
The winner of this contest will receive a GlobeTrotter as a prize.
